I have this assignment on wills. I have to write about 750 words about someone's sister being entitled to his estate. Only 750 words you say. It's so easy you say. What rubbish! You have to examine the validity of the will made out to his ex-wife as well. And! You have to fucking reference. It is my belief that in hell, they make the evil people of the world reference all day. IT IS THAT PAINFUL! When you're not allowed to use sentences that are made up of more than 20 words, hence, whence and other seemingly useless words, 750 words is a lot.
Every time I write something, I ask myself "Is it passive? Is it too long? Am I confusing the reader? Any nominalisations? Are the modifiers in the right place?" I CAN'T JUST WRITE ANYTHING ANYMORE! *cries* It's driving me nuts. So nuts, that the voice in my head is speaking in a british accent. I AM BEING REDUCED INTO A USELESS HEAP OF GOO BY THE LANGUAGE I SO CLAIMED TO LOVE. God. Help me.

WHAT. THE. FUCK. Look, I know that everyone hates lawyers but that is no excuse for making it so difficult to get into the damn course! You may argue that being a lawyer is so difficult and there's so much to know and blah blah blah. Whatever. There's a template! Once you get a case, you listen to the client's side of the story, look for relevant statutes and case law, indentify the cause of action(what to sue for), the elements to that cause of action, the burden of proof, fomulate an argument and you're pretty much ready to go! (Of course, you have to back up your argument with the law and apply the law to the facts) It's really not all that tough! (At least now it isn't)
Sure, I understand that NUS is tough to get into and they want the best. But still! I'm slaving away for 6 years! And I may not gain entry. IN WHAT WAY IS THAT FAIR?! Besides, even if I do gain entry and graduate from NUS with a diploma in graduate law, I may not be able to practice. THE IDIOCY OF IT ALL!
That's it. I'm not going to be a lawyer. Law graduates have the lowest level of unemployment. I'm sure I won't starve.
To think that my hatred for the Singapore Ministry of Education didn't stop after high school.

When I got up at 7 30 this morning, I was hating my life so much. When you have to spend 1.5 hours to get to school for a measky 2 hours, you will understand that feeling. Anyway, I was really early for my first class. So I just stood outside and waited until the class before mine was finished. People from my class started arriving and because I was standing outside, they all did. -.-""
Steven (my tutor) came out, gave us this "What the hell" look and shooed us all in the classroom. *laughs* Steven is really hot. *nods* I didn't think so at my first tutorial with him. Maybe it was because he was wearing flip flops. *hm...* But whoa. It was fun to look at him for an hour. *laughs*
But that still doesn't mean that I like waking up at 7 30.

One thing that's been nagging at me lately is how people never remember to turn off electrical devices at the socket when they're done. Yes. It is incovenient and a possible waste of energy, but! It helps slow down the process of us getting fried by the environment! Why people don't get that is beyond me. Sure, the whole global warming may be scam. But! Would saving a little energy hurt? I mean- It's 25 degrees outside and I'm already uncomfortable from the heat. Can you imagine when it's 50+ degrees?!

1) I got really lucky on monday! *nods* Well, apart from the fact that Shawn (A friend of Dawnie's friend) was supposed to help me reserve a computer while I got my stuff and didn't. *growls* I had to wait ages for another one to be free. Anyway... Lucky lucky! Amos (He spells it that way. Not me. Some of you may know him as 23 year old guy or duckie.) bought me free MnMs! *beams* Well. He bought them for himself but let me eat e whole packet. *laughs* And! Kenji (Italian guy whose real name is Riccardo. Don't ask.) dorve me home! He is SO nice. But before you guys get any ideas, he drove Jenny home as well. So. He's just WAY nice.
